{"id":1266,"date":"2018-11-30T23:31:52","date_gmt":"2018-11-30T23:31:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.oconnorcpafirm.com\/blog\/?p=1266"},"modified":"2019-11-04T20:54:19","modified_gmt":"2019-11-04T20:54:19","slug":"business-plan-in-6-weeks-part-3-know-your-customer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oconnorcpafirm.com\/blog\/2018\/11\/business-plan-in-6-weeks-part-3-know-your-customer\/","title":{"rendered":"Business Plan in 6 weeks:\u00a0 Part 3\u00a0\u00a0 Know Your Customer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>OK, we know what you sell, we know why people will and will not buy from you.\u00a0 Now we need to REALLY get to know our customer.\u00a0 I mean really know them.\u00a0 The more you know about your customer the easier everything gets.\u00a0 If you know why your customer wants to buy from you and why someone does not want to buy from you, you can address both issues in your marketing campaign and in your sales message when you are trying to close the deal.<\/p>\n<p>First things first\u2026.know what your idea customer looks like.\u00a0 You want a clear picture of the perfect customer because we certainly want to market and sell to the perfect customer every chance we can.\u00a0 So think about the categories of customers you want to work with; would most enjoy working with.\u00a0 What does the perfect client buy from you, how much do they spend, are they a recurring customer or not, can you\u00a0 make them a recurring customer?\u00a0 If you could design your perfect customer, do so in detail and then you can take their many characteristics and go about finding them.<\/p>\n<p>What you want to know about your perfect customer and your most likely to buy customer is a combination of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What are their demographics?<\/li>\n<li>Where do they live\/work?<\/li>\n<li>What is their education level?<\/li>\n<li>How much money do they make?<\/li>\n<li>Are they single, married, with kids, retired<\/li>\n<li>What do they read? Newspapers, online news, social media?<\/li>\n<li>How do they purchase?
