It’s a New Year!! Another chance to take charge, make positive change and get on a path toward achievement. I saw a post on Facebook that said “A Goal without a Plan is just a Wish” So true and what if you have not even developed the goal in the first place? Then where are you and how can you have any expectations at all for anything?
Day 1 was letting yourself dream about 2019 without censorship. All the goals and dreams you have for the year
Day 2 is to organize them into categories and priorities.
Day 3 is to take your categorized and prioritized list and add action items under each of the major goals. There are always some obvious action items that you know will help get a goal moving forward. Write those down and elaborate where possible. Keep in mind that the best action item of all is creating these dreams, ideas and goals and really connecting to them. Once you connect with them and keep them in the forefront of your mind, opportunities, solutions and paths will start to become more apparent to you because you recognize them for what they are.
Be creative with how you might achieve a goal, but also create action items and tasks that you can be accountable for and for which you can assign a time frame. Make appointments with yourself to think about, work on, research and work on those action items that will help get movement.
For a revenue goal, back it down to daily sales, weekly billings, number of new clients to close on….give yourself some idea of what you revenue should look like every day or week or month, whichever makes the most sense to you. Then keep track of where you are so you motivate yourself to push forward if you are behind the goal.
For each goal that you create, some ideas should come to you. If not, just let that idea or dream reside in your conscientiousness until ideas come to you. The key is first to come up with the goal, write them down and keep thinking of them so ideas will come to you.
3 days in and you should start to feel excited about things you have documented that you want to do, want to accomplish. The goal is the first step….now the real magic can start to happen.
