It’s a New Year!! Another chance to take charge, make positive change and get on a path toward achievement. I saw a post on Facebook that said “A Goal without a Plan is just a Wish” So true and what if you have not even developed the goal in the first place? Then where are you and how can you have any expectations at all for anything?

Day 2 of the 31 Day Challenge:

Day 1 was letting yourself dream about 2019 without censorship. All the goals and dreams you have for the year

Day 2 is to organize them into categories and priorities. Take all of your awesome ideas and dreams and separate them into categories like: Health, Finances, Business, Lifestyle; any categories that make sense for you and that your ideas fit well into. Once you have them categorized, then prioritize them if it is obvious that one needs to be accomplished before another can begin.

The last time I did this, I created a spreadsheet with my categories across the top and then listed my ideas in order of priority under each category with any action items listed under each idea if I already knew what some of them should be. I did this manually because there is a certain kind of connection between your ideas and your brain when you physically write something down. Once I had the sheet exactly as I wanted it, I laminated it and kept it on my desk.

So take all of the ideas and dreams you wrote down and organize them in a way that makes sense for you and create something with the actual words of these dreams written down. Some of the things that were on my first list were:

In no particular order:

Travel abroad for an extended period of time: Have now done that 7 times!
Increase revenues for my firm to $xxx, xxx: Have now exceeded that by quite a bit. I broke it down to the number of hours a week I needed to bill to make the revenue goal and every week checked my progress and actively marketed to make sure I could bill at least the minimum hours every week to reach my goal.
Become a 4.0 Tennis Player….that one eludes me and honestly constantly frustrates me…
Live a life of intentional spending: Went for a year without buying anything new. It completely changed my relationship with shopping, impulse buying and the stuff I already own. A powerful experience!
Max out my retirement savings even if it hurts> Have done that for 15 years now
Create a savings account for frivolous spending. I saved $2,000 first and bought a really nice camera which I love to this day and became a much more active photographer.

So some ideas to work with. Dream big! Know that just about anything is possible if you first dream it, then connect to it.
